Sydney Light Rail Refinancing 2021
The 2021 refinancing for ALTRAC of the $2.1bn Sydney Light Rail PPP assets involved a bank group of 6, and was the first green financing of a NSW PPP.
While a Director of Capella Capital, Ed led the team which provided the financial advisory and arrangement services for ALTRAC, managing the debt procurement process, negotiating the commercial arrangements with the lenders, and the interface with Transport for NSW and Treasury.
Ed also worked on the original bid and transaction in 2014/15. The project involved the design, construction, operations, maintenance, and finance of the new CBD and South East Light Rail lines, and the transfer of operations and maintenance for the existing 13 km Inner West Light Rail.

QE2 Medical Car Park Refinancing and Sale
QEII Medical Centre Car Park was a design, construct, finance of a new multi-deck carpark to provide further capacity to the hospital precinct in Perth that serviced 36 medical organisations. Along with the new multi-deck carpark was the responsibility for the operation of the existing parking together these provided a total of 4,000 bays.
While a Director at Capella Capital, Ed led the refinancing and sale of the asset.

NT Defence Solar
The project is located at Robertson Barracks and RAAF Darwin and involved the construction, finance and operation of two behind the meter solar facilities of a combined capacity of approximately 14.5MW with integrated BESS systems. The integration of BESS systems along with a weather forecasting system provide an Australian leading scheduled dispatch system.
Ed led the project the development of the solution, bid and transaction phase in 2018/19.

PPPs - Frankston Hospital Redevelopment, Circular Quay and Melbourne Metro Tunnels, Stations and Over Site Developments
Dan and Ed played significant roles on these three major projects during their time at Capella Capital. Given the inherent complexity in each of these projects, roles were diverse and included leadership of workstreams covering early bid phases, consortium formation, commercial and legal, interface and integration with over station development, retail solutions, additional community infrastructure and childcare, all the way to major public art programs.
